Sudan Geography

Deb’s mission in the Sudan was for 6 months from December 2005 through May 2006 (Advent to Ascension). She worked in the Episcopal Diocese of Lui in the southern region of the Sudan. Sudan has an area of 967,500 sq. mi. A list of adjacent states you would need to approximate the size of Sudan, going from West to East and North to South, is: Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. This list covers 945,079 sq mi, or 22,421 sq mi less than Sudan.

The Sudan is in the northeast part of Africa. Lui is in the south central region of the Sudan.In size, the Sudan is nearly one quarter of the size of the United States
