Please extend to Reverend Handschy my gratitude for his eloquent letter to the Post Dispatch published on July 12. I have long felt that there are far to many guns in America and am dismayed at the canards which so many people and some organizations use to justify why there should be absolutely no limits on gun ownership. Regardless, I could never have stated as clearly as Reverend Handschy why guns are a factor and not a deterrent to the fear which pervades American society at this time.
